Oromia Cookstove Distribution Project

Abstract

KBS Certification Services Pvt. Ltd. has performed 1st periodic verification of the GS-VER project “Oromia Cookstove Distribution Project” with Gold Standard Ref. Number GS 5463. The verification includes confirming the implementation of the monitoring plan of the registered PDD and the application of the monitoring methodology as per registered Gold Standard Methodology “Technologies and Practices to Displace Decentralized Thermal Energy Consumption” Version 2.0. A site visit by an Objective Observer (OO) was conducted to check the implementation of registered monitoring plan and verify the data submitted in the monitoring report. KBS confirms the following has been reviewed; (a) The registered PDD, Passport, monitoring plan and the corresponding validation opinion; (b) The validation report; (c) The Objective Observer Report; (d) The applied monitoring methodology; (e) The monitoring report to verify that it is as per the standardized format; (f) Any other information and references relevant to the project activity's emission reductions (e.g. IPCC reports, data on electricity generation in the national grid or laboratory analysis and national regulations); (g) VER calculations sheets and all supporting documents; KBS Certification Services Pvt. Ltd. confirms that the monitoring system is in place and the emission reductions are calculated without material misstatements. Based on the information seen and evaluated we confirm that the implementation of the project has resulted in 25,302 tCO2e emission reductions during the monitoring period 01/01/2016 to 31/12/2018 (including both the days).
